Background of Eid Milad un-Nabi
The first public celebrations of Eid Milad un-Nabi day occurred in Egypt country towards the end of the 11th century. It was primarily a festival of the Shia ruling class. The celebrations featured Quran recitations (Koran), animal sacrifices, public sermons and feasts.
